D43 leadership
Welcome to the D43 Toastmasters newly designed website. We are excited that you came to visit us. The D43 website will be used to communicate with our members and guests about upcoming events and club and member successes.
We have been working hard to be prepared to serve you as your District Leaders. We are here to help you achieve your educational goals through Pathways, recruit new members, and Unleash Your WOW!Factor
Our Goals for D43 in 2019-2020
- Effective Training – Bi-annual training offered face-to-face and webinars offered through Zoom
- Communication and Networking – Provide tools for our members and officers
- Power of 30 – clubs embrace the WOW!Factor a club with 30 members offers
Research has shown that members don’t return to meetings and/or pay their dues because no one asked them to. I am introducing the JUST ASK Initiative:
- JUST ASK members who have been absent to attend a meeting.
- JUST ASK previous members to attend a meeting.
- JUST ASK returning members to renew their dues.
- JUST ASK guests to visit a club.
- JUST ASK guests to become members.
- JUST ASK why a member doesn’t want to return.
Tips:
- Reach out to a member that hasn’t been at a meeting recently. Tell them that you have missed them at the meeting and invite them to the next one. Best ways to reach out:
- In person
- Telephone call
- People want to feel like they belong. Reaching out to members should become routine. Imagine if the same person is politely approached by more than one person and is asked to come to a meeting. They would definitely feel missed.
- Every officer/member should reach out to a minimum of one person each week.
- Administrative Reports in Club Central will give you a list of previous members.
- Reach out to charter members so they can see how far the club has come since they started the club.
- Perform an exit interview to find out why members aren’t returning. You want to gather information so you can make improvements to the club.
- Don’t badger them to return or visit a meeting.
